Shoaib Akhtar, the former Pakistan fast bowler, used to breathe fire when he ran in and hurled bouncers and yorkers at batsmen. Not only did he crank up the pace, but also made batsmen jump like cats on a hot tin roof. The speedster smashed a number of batters on the helmets and also has the record of the fastest delivery in international cricket that he bowled against England in 2003.
Recently, he was asked about the hero, who should play his role if ever a biopic is made on him. The Rawalpindi Express named none other than Salman Khan, the veteran Bollywood actor. In the last 10 years or so, the ‘Bhaijaan’ of the Indian film industry has been doing action movies. He is indeed a crowd favourite and has churned out blockbusters one after the other in his illustrious career.
Salman is also the host of Bigg Boss, a reality TV show aired on Colors channel. As far as Shoaib was concerned, he expressed his opinions during an interaction on the Helo App. Apart from his stupendous journey on the field, Shoaib’s career has been marred with controversies as well. Salman’s journey hasn’t been any different either, but they haven’t done their reputation any harm.
Shoaib Akhtar- The Gangster
Back in 2006, Emraan Hashmi- starrer Gangster hit the silver-screen and created a lot of buzz. The movie also featured Kangana Ranaut and Shiney Ahuja. Emraan played the role of a police officer even as Shiney enacted the role of the ‘gangster’. Ranaut was Hashmi and Ahuja’s love interest in the movie. Emraan tricks Kangana into trapping Ahuja, who was hanged to death in the end.
Later, Kangana, after knowing the truth, shot Emraan dead at his residence. It was also Kangana’s debut Bollywood movie after which there wasn’t any looking back for her. Salman once said to Shoaib that the retired fast bowler could easily fit into Shiney’s character in the popular movie.
Salman’s words can’t completely be dismissed out of sight as Shoaib has the built to play the role of a ‘Gangster’ in the movie. Also, Shoaib is a fearless character, who hardly backs off from expressing his views and opinions. In his career, Akhtar picked 444 wickets in 224 matches for Pakistan.
