Sunrisers Hyderabad pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar produced a masterclass of death bowling in the game against Mumbai Indians and helped his side to a victory in a crucial encounter. The veteran swing bowler, who has had a tough time in the last two years in international cricket, put his hand up when the team needed him the most and bowled a wicket-maiden 19th over with when MI needed 19 runs to win.

Another SRH pacer, Umran Malik has been quite impressive throughout the tournament and he has already clocked the fastest delivery of the season at 157 kmph. Apart from his raw pace, Umran has grown into a wicket-taking bowler for SRH and has picked up 21 wickets in 13 games. He finished with 3 for 23 in his three overs which dented the run chase for Mumbai Indians.

I felt the yorker was the best option on that wicket: Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Bhuvneshwar shot a lot of questions in the video interview with the youngster about his powerful performance and the way he has worked with Dale Steyn in the bowling camp. The senior pacer also advised Malik to stay calm and not allow the pressure to get into their mind while bowling in the death overs. He also opined that it was lucky that the 19th over went on to be maiden and noted the need for yorkers at the venue as the pitch offered a lot for the batters.

“The most important thing when you are bowling at the death is to stay calm. Many times, if you concede a boundary, you come under pressure. So if you can keep a calm mind, it will help you,” Bhuvneshwar told in the video to Malik, posted on IPL’s official website.

“It was luck that it (the 19th over) turned out to be maiden. But I was trying to bowl yorkers. I felt the yorker was the best option on that wicket to prevent run-scoring if it was executed well. Luckily, all deliveries landed in a good spot,” he added.
