Jos Buttler had a dream run in the first half of the ongoing IPL 2022 where he registered three centuries with two of them being back-to-back. The Englishman looked in such great nick that at one point in time it appeared he would surpass Virat Kohli’s tally of 973 runs of IPL 2016.

However, the second half witnessed a dip in his performance, as he has amassed single-digit scores in his last three innings. Analysing his own performances, the wicketkeeper-batter has said that while he is disappointed with the recent failures, he is confident that there will definitely be a revival of form in the playoffs.

I was playing some of the best cricket: Jos Buttler

“I’ve obviously been delighted with my form in the IPL, but a bit disappointed with the last few games. The first half of the tournament, I was playing some of the best cricket, and I’m still taking lots of confidence from that going into playoffs”, said Buttler while speaking to The Times of India.

Buttler might have failed in the second half, but he is comfortably placed at the top of the Orange Cap list, having amassed 629 runs from 14 matches at an average of 48.38 and a strike rate of 146.96, with his highest individual score being 116.

Having registered back-to-back victories before coming into the playoffs, a spirited Rajasthan Royals would now be locking horns with an in-form Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 1 of IPL 2022 at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata on May 24. GT would be coming into this clash after an eight-wicket defeat to the Royal Challengers Bangalore in their last league encounter.

It is to be noted that the inclement weather conditions are expected to play a spoilsport in this contest and should the game be washed out, there is no reserve day in place, which means that GT will advance to the final since they are the table-toppers, with 10 wins in 14 games.
