Pakistani all-rounder Imad Wasim has become an integral part of the national side in the limited overs formats of the game. He was a part of the recently concluded ICC Champions Trophy. Needless to say, the young all-rounder is mighty pleased to have been a part of the Champions Trophy winning squad. Team Pakistan beat the arch rivals India in the finals of the tournament to claim the ultimate glory.

The fans and the players have been celebrating the victory big time. However, Imad Wasim believes that this is just the beginning and there are many more achievements to follow for the men in green. In a recent conversation with The Dawn, Imad noted that the win in Champions Trophy is Pakistan’s first step towards victory and glory that the team earlier used to boast about in the yesteryears.

He cited that the men in green outclassed top four nations to win the tournament and speaks volumes about their temperament. “This is our first step towards victory and to the glory we once had. The way the boys played at the tournament and outclassed all the top four teams of the world was a result of our hard work and dedication for the team,” quoted Imad Wasim.

Aiming the World T20

Speaking about the next milestone that the team is keen on achieving, Imad quoted that they have their eyes set on the World T20 now. He admitted that they have just reached the first step right now and have a long way to go. They wish to be the top side in the world and win the premier T20 tournament under the leadership of Sarfraz Ahmed.

“We have just reached the first step there is a long way to go, we want to be the top team in the world and win the T20 World Cup under the captaincy of Sarfraz Ahmed,” he conceded further.
