Imran Khan rates Virat Kohli's temperament better than Sachin Tendulkar's

Former Pakistan skipper Imran Khan has lauded current Indian Test captain Virat Kohli and also stated that he has a better temperament than ‘Master Blaster’ Sachin Tendulkar. The World Cup winning captain rated Kohli higher than Tendulkar when batting under pressure situations is concerned.

Speaking to the Hindustan Times from Islamabad, the charismatic political leader said, “Apart from his talent and technique, he has a very good temperament. His temperament is better than Sachin’s. Kohli performs at the most difficult of opportunities, which Sachin was sometimes wasn’t able to.”

While fans and critics continue to compare Virat Kohli with his childhood idol Sachin Tendulkar, Kohli himself refuses to be compared with someone who has scored 34,000 international runs and 100 international centuries and has proved his class and stature for a span of 24 years.

Imran said Kohli is a special cricketer with immense batting skills, “Virat Kohli is one of the complete players I have seen. He is so versatile; he plays on both feet and on all sides of the field,” he said.

Speaking about Pakistan’s loss to India in the World T20 earlier this year, Imran said, “It was very painful watching Pakistan lose, but Kohli played a very good game… Just look at how Kohli plays in difficult situations. He’s better than anyone. I’d say he is the best internationally today. You can back him to play any match.” he concluded.

Kohli has been in a scintillating form off late in each and every format of the game. He has also handled his troops very well so far and has captained India to series victories in West Indies and Sri Lanka besides drubbing South Africa and New Zealand by 3-0 margins at home.

Arguably the greatest batsman of the modern generation, Kohli scored a match winning 167 against England in the 2nd Test at Vizag to take India to a 1-0 lead in the 5 match series.
