Imran Khan reveals one of the biggest mistakes of his life

In a recent revelation, former Pakistan captain Imran Khan made sensational claims about his third marriage. Imran who got hitched to Bushra Maneka, a leading scholar and spiritual guide in the mystic Sufi branch of Islam in February after two failed marriages, revealed he did not see his wife’s face until the nuptial ceremony.

Imran who is running to be elected as Prime Minister in Pakistan’s general election during July had previously been married to British heiress Jemima Goldsmith until they divorced in 2004 after a period of nine years. Soon after, he got married to former BCC presenter Reham Khan.

Speaking to Daily Mail, the 65-year-old said, “I did not catch a glimpse of my wife’s face until after we were married. I proposed to her without seeing her because she had never met me without her face being covered with a full veil. The only idea I had of what she looked like came from an old photograph I had seen in her house.”

The reason was that 39-year-old Bushra and a mother-of-five was prohibited from meeting men other than her husband with her face uncovered, nor even venture outside her house unveiled

Imran’s marriage with Reham Khan

The wedlock didn’t go down well between the pair as they got divorced only after ten months in 2015 with Reham later accusing Imran of being bisexual, taking hard drugs and adultery. Reham had also previously accused that Imran used to meet his third wife Bushra when the duo was still married.

Imran responded by saying, “’Normally I don’t say anything about Reham, but I will say this: I’ve made some mistakes in my life, but my second marriage has to be the biggest.” The cricketer turned politician concluded that the values a person’s character over physical attributes and stated that Bushra’s spiritual guidance is of profound importance to him.
