Team India skipper, Virat Kohli, has been in a dominating form across all the three formats of the game in the recent times. He is one of those cricketers who never cease to fine tune every little aspect of their game. At the most recent practice session of the national side, Kohli was seen practising with a shorter bat handle. Apparently, the idea was to ensure that he does not end up hitting the balls in the air whilst playing the cover drives.

Over the last few years, the opposition teams have been able to spot the errors and flaws in the batting technique of Virat Kohli. His struggles against the ball in the channel just outside the off-stump line is pretty much known to all analysts. Now, in a bid to eradicate those flaws and ensure that he is able to drive those deliveries through the covers without playing the shots in air, Kohli adopted the new training methodology.

The recent reports in the Times of India revealed that Virat Kohli had requested the officials at the venue of Eden Garden to chop off the top part of the bat handle just before the practice session session commenced on the day. Team India head coach Ravi Shastri was also present at the session supervising the team. Murali Vijay was seen bowling to Kohli in the nets for quite some time.

Pujara joins the session

Meanwhile, among other players, the one player that bagged quite some limelight was middle-order mainstay Cheteshwar Pujara. Pujara had earlier missed the practice session on Monday since he had opted for rest after having played the Ranji Trophy fixture for Saurashtra a day before arriving in Kolkata.

Team India sweated it out for almost 3 hours in their practice session. Earlier in the day, Sri Lanka also had their practice session at the venue. The first Test of the series commences on November 16 at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
