The Gujarat Cricket Association(GCA) has considered the ongoing Covid-19 situation in the country and has confirmed that the ODI series against West Indies will take place behind closed doors. The T20Is at the Eden Garden in Kolkata will have a capacity of 75 percent crowd and this will be a huge boost to the fans who have always been passionate about the game. The West Indies side will tour India for a three-match ODI series starting from 6th February and it will be followed by a three T20I series as well.

Rohit Sharma will start as the full-time captain for India in the limited-overs series for the first time and Virat Kohli will be playing as a pure batter after a long time. KL Rahul was named Rohit’s deputy while this series is expected to provide an opportunity for a lot of newcomers after a poor tour of South Africa. India lost the ODI series 0-3 and the Test series 1-2 in South Africa and hence, this home series against West Indies is going to be vital in building the side for the upcoming ICC tournaments.
