Famous commentator Aakash Chopra is of the opinion that Indian cricket team can really manage without MS Dhoni. As per him,. the team can be on their own very well without relying on the shoulders of Dhoni at the 2021 T20 World Cup. Chopra’s who’s also a former Indian batsmen has proposed his opinion on various platforms, and can be seen giving expert advises on his YouTube channel very often.
One of the viewers asked him if the Indian team can make a mark without having MS Dhoni by their side in 2021 T20 World.Cup. He agreed to the statement and said, that India are now capable enough to manage on their own and the 2021 T20 WC is expected somewhere in late 2021 where relying on Dhoni won’t be a fair idea.
“I think we can manage without him, let’s be honest. Because we are talking about 2021,” Chopra said. While making these statements Chopra pointed that it would be always an advantage to have captain cool along side Indian team, but the bigger question is whether Dhoni himself wants to contest in or not. As per Chopra’s reasoning, Dhoni isn’t much willing to play for the team anymore.
“It is in India and you definitely want Dhoni to be there in the team and want him to play. “But first thing, does Dhoni want to play? I have been saying this like a broken record that I feel he doesn’t want to play,” he stated.
We need to get used to manage without MS Dhoni, reckons Chopra
Chopra emphasized on the fact that even if Dhoni is available to play, India should learn to carry ahead without him because we are talking about T20 2021 WC, and there will be times when Dhoni wouldn’t be there to back up the team. Also, his presence isn’t much significant that it would affect the results of the game.
“But even if he is available, we are talking about 2021. It is still more than a year to go when that World Cup will happen in India. So, we have to get used to manage without him and I think will get used to it by then. “So I feel his presence is not so important that if he is not there you will not win the World Cup,” he added.
Chopra made a concluding remark by stating that Dhoni hasn’t seen the face of the game post 2019 World Cup semifinals. Even if he marks his presence, depending on him totally can’t be reasonable. While youngster like Rishabh Pant has been expected to fill in the shoes, he has been going little off-beat, but KL Rahul seems much promising.
