India and England will lock horns in a grueling five-match Test series that is set to begin on 4th August 2021. This Test series will be the first assignment for the Virat Kohli-led Indian side in the second edition of the World Test Championship (WTC).
And, legendary spin bowler Harbhajan Singh has predicted the scoreline of the Test series between these two outfits. Harbhajan Singh opined that India can definitely succeed in England. Harbhajan also added that if the Virat Kohli-led side plays well in England, then they will stand out from the other teams.
Harbhajan even predicted that India will surely win two or three Test matches in the tour, and one match will end in a draw. The former Indian bowler further opined that even if the Test series ends in a draw, it will be a massive gain for India.
“India definitely has the team to succeed there. Yes, they lost against New Zealand which was a one-off game, where India did not play well. If this Indian team wins on England shores, they will stand out from the rest. I hope this team performs well and wins the series.
My prediction is that India will definitely win two or three Test matches and one contest will be a draw. Even if the series is drawn, it will be a huge gain because of the challenging conditions. Batting would be very important as the responsibility will be on Kohli, Rohit, and Pujara. If they score runs, then we have bowlers to bowl out England,” said Harbhajan Singh in a YouTube Video.
England will be under pressure: Harbhajan Singh
Harbhajan Singh further added that the England cricket team will be under pressure as they will be playing the Test series without their all-rounder Ben Stokes. The 41-year-old concluded by stating that if England fields a team similar to the one that took the field against New Zealand, then India will walk over the Joe Root led outfit.
“England will be under pressure because they will be playing without Ben Stokes. They fielded a team against New Zealand that, according to me, won’t win a Test for a couple of years at least. If they walk out with such a team, India will walk all over them,” concluded Harbhajan Singh.
