'India, please help' - Kevin Pietersen urges assistance after misplacing his PAN card

Income Tax Department was quick to take action on his query.

Former England skipper Kevin Pietersen was one of the finest batters during his playing days and his abilities on the cricket field have also helped him in playing franchise cricket across the globe. Among all those nations is India where he had bagged an IPL contract during the 2009 season. Meanwhile, Pietersen has himself said that his love for the country dates back to 2003 and also has a tremendous amount of respect for Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Lately, the cricketer-turned-broadcaster has asked both India and PM Modi for help after having misplaced an important document. The ex-all-rounder has misplaced his Permanent Account Number (PAN) card in the country and has now come forward and urged the citizens to guide him in providing the details of the concerned authorities who can help him in sorting out this thing. At the same time, he has also received a message from one of the highest government departments in India.

Taking to the micro-blogging site, Pietersen urged India to help him by saying that he has misplaced his PAN Card and is traveling to India on Monday but need the physical card for work-related purpose. At the same time, the South Africa-born cricketer also requested Twitterverse to direct him to someone with whom he can get in touch at the earliest to seek help. The veteran all-rounder concluded by tagging Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Kevin Pietersen’s tweet went viral in no time and after a while, he got a reply from the Income Tax Department of India where they assured to help him in resolving the issue. The I-T department shared a couple of links and asked the former England cricketer to apply for the reprint of the physical PAN Card by entering the card’s number.

In the second tweet, the Income Tax Department also made it clear that in case Kevin Pietersen does not remember his PAN details and needs to ascertain the PAN for applying for a reprint of the physical card, then he can send a mail to a particular id. Pietersen was satisfied after all his queries were addressed to his satisfaction and thanked the I-T department.

“Fabulous. Thank you! I’ve emailed you. I’ve also followed you so someone can DM me so I can speak to you please? “, he wrote.
