The Indian U19 team is doing a fabulous job in New Zealand. They have been outclassing every team in their group. There are certain players in that team who are tipped to be the ‘next big thing’ in world cricket. We have seen talents like Shubman Gill, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Anukul Roy and many more are making a name for themselves.

However, there is one boy in particular who has been in fantastic form. The young captain of the U19 team, Prithvi Shaw, who has impressed one and all. Prithvi Shaw has been in the news since he was 14. His humongous 546-run knock in the Haris Shield earned him some praise and recognition. That knock took Shaw to England and also helped him grab an SG sponsorship worth Rupees Thirty Six Lakhs.

Shaw has since been on the radar of the Mumbai selectors. He was given his first Ranji Trophy cap against Tamil Nadu in the semis of 2017. Prithvi scored a century in the second innings. He then scored a debut century on his Duleep Trophy debut as well. This earned him the captain’s responsibility in the Indian U19 team.

Prithvi Shaw impressed everyone on the world stage as well. He scored a magnificent 94 against the mighty Aussies in the opening game of the World Cup. He then smashed 57* runs in the second game against PNG. Shaw has been in fantastic form lately and that has yielded in some fans. The youngster has also got a lot of fan following on the social media platforms as well.

Shaw’s picture with a baby goes viral

Recently, Prithvi posted a picture with a baby on social media. The photo went viral and everybody started wondering more about the baby. It was later cleared that the baby held by the Indian skipper was of an Indian family residing in New Zealand. They asked Shaw to hold the baby so that they could click a photo.

India has qualified with the most points in their group. They will now play a super league game on 25th of January against the neighbours Bangladesh in Queenstown.
