Australia’s last shot at winning a trophy on the Indian tour will rely on the result of the 2nd T20I after they lost the first T20I in a rain-reduced encounter. In absence of their captain Steven Smith who was forced out of the T20I series due to an injury, Australia continued their failures with the bat against the strong Indian bowling.

Here we look at all key stats and numbers ahead of the game.

6 – Number of matches David Warner has led Australia in International cricket including the 1st T20I game. Warner had won all the five matches (3 ODIs and 2 T20Is) he captained Australia before this series.

7 – Number of consecutive T20I wins for India against Australia. Only Pakistan (9 against Zimbabwe) won more than seven matches against an opponent in T20I cricket.

12 – Number of venues that hosted a T20I game between India and Australia so far. Both these teams have played each other in 14 T20I games at 12 different venues with Melbourne hosting three. The venues of the remaining T20Is: Guwahati and Hyderabad will be hosting their 1st T20I matches.

21.86 – Rohit Sharma’s batting average in T20I cricket in India. He has scored 328 runs in 17 innings with only one fifty-plus score which was his 106-run knock against South Africa. No other player with 200+ T20I runs in India averages this low.

49 – The Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati will be India’s 49th venue to host an International game and the 18th to host a T20I. The venue has hosted 15 first-class matches till date but was never a host to a List A or a Twenty20 match.

199 – Number of fours Virat Kohli has hit in T20I cricket so far. He needs one more four to become the 3rd player after Tillakaratne Dilshan and Mohammad Shahzad to hit 200 fours in T20Is.

303 – Kohli’s batting average in his last five T20I innings against Australia. His last five T20I innings against Aussies are 90*, 59*, 50, 82* and 22*. Had he scored a fifty in the first T20I game, he could have become the first player to score five consecutive 50+ against an opponent in T20Is.

6964 – Runs Virat has scored in Twenty20 cricket so far. He needs 36 more runs to become the first Indian and 8th player overall to complete 7000 Twenty20 runs.
