India and New Zealand will be facing off in a 3-match ODI series starting from Sunday with the visiting side hoping to bring an end to their ODI series losing streak on Indian soil. The home team will be high on the confidence with their recent form and a balanced lineup that can take them to victory from any situation.

Here we look at all the key stats and numbers ahead of the series.

0.472 – New Zealand’s win/loss ratio in India is their 3rd lowest in 15 countries they have played ODI cricket. The Kiwis lost 36 ODIs out of 55 they played in India but won only 17. They lost both the ODI they played in Singapore. Also, 18 out of 22 in Pakistan at a win/loss ratio of 0.222 is their lowest in history.

3.428 – India’s win/loss ratio against New Zealand at home in ODI cricket is their 2nd best against any side they’ve played more than five matches. India won 24 out of 32 ODIs losing seven against New Zealand in India.

5 – Number of bilateral ODI series between India and New Zealand in India. The home side won all the five series. In the seven series between the two teams in New Zealand, the home side won four while India won one.

13 – Number of consecutive years New Zealand went through without a win in the ODI format against India in India. Between 2003 and 2016, New Zealand lost eight ODIs in a row they played against India in India.

24 – Number of matches Kiwis have played until June this year. New Zealand will be playing their first International game since the conclusion of the Champions Trophy. They have featured in 15 ODIs, five Tests and four T20Is in 2017 till June.

29 – Number of wickets Jasprit Bumrah has picked up in ODI cricket in 2017. These are the most for an Indian in 2017 and the fourth most for any player.

73.10 – Virat Kohli’s batting average in ODI cricket as captain is the highest for any player with a minimum of 1000 runs. Kohli has scored 2047 runs in 37 innings as captain. Kane Williamson averages 50.05 with 1852 runs in 39 innings as captain which is the 4th highest average for any captain in ODIs.

1197 – Runs Virat Kohli has scored in ODI cricket in 2017. He is the only player to score 1000 runs in this format in this year. Rohit Sharma has scored 902 runs in ODI cricket which is the 3rd most after Kohli and Joe Root (983).
