India v South Africa 2nd Test Day 2 Review: Persistent rain washes out day two: A steady drizzle since morning washed out day two of the second Test match. It had been raining in Bangalore leading into the Test and the weather was expected to have a say in the match. As per Skymet Meteorology Division in India, good rains are expected till Day 4 and this news will be frustrating for the home side since they are in a good position. As per reports on Day 5 weather will be a little better. Overcast conditions will continue and chances of light rain showers cannot be ruled out. Bangalore is heading towards its all-time monthly rainfall record and may well overhaul it in a few days.
South Africa will surely be pleased with the news. On a good pitch they lost 8 wickets to spinners and with India having scored 80 runs without the loss of any wickets, the Proteas appear to be in big trouble. Without their premier fast bowlers Steyn and Philander, the visitors appear thin in the bowling department. The home side will be hoping for quick runs whenever play resumes. A huge first innings total is needed for India since the possibility of 4 innings in this match appears grim.
Brief scores:
South Africa: 214/10 (de Villiers 85, Ashwin 4/70, Jadeja 4/50)
India: 80/0 (Dhawan 45*, Vijay 28*)
