India sealed the T20I series against Sri Lanka at Visakhapatnam following a brilliant bowling spell from Ravichandran Ashwin who was well supported by other bowlers. After winning the toss, India asked Sri Lanka to bat first. The visitors never looked in the game as they lost 2 wickets in first over itself. The wicket fall continued as they bundled up for just 82 runs.
India chased down the 83-run target inside 14 overs for the loss of Rohit Sharma’s wicket, which was followed by sensible batting from Shikhar Dhawan and Ajinkya Rahane. Here we look at all the stats and records recorded during the game and series.
82 – Sri Lanka’s total of 82 is their lowest T20I total. Their previous lowest is 87 vs Australia in 2010. This is also the 2nd lowest total against India. Lowest total vs India is 80 by England in 2012.
9 – This is the first time India has won a T20I match by 9 wickets. They have won matches by 8 wickets on 4 different instances.
4/8 – Ravi Ashwin’s figures of 4 wickets for 8 runs are the best bowling figures by an Indian in T20Is. 2nd best figures are also by Ashwin, who had 4/11 during World T20 game in 2014 vs Australia.

Out of the 3 bowler/fielder combinations in T20Is who have 8 dismissals, 2 are from India. Another is Netherlands pair of T van der Gugten and Peter Borren.

100 – Shikhar Dhawan’s strike rate of 100 during his 46-run innings is 2nd lowest by an Indian in a 40+ scored T20I innings. Lowest strike rate in a 40+ scored T20I innings for an Indian was by Gautam Gambhir who scored 56 off 60 balls, where his strike rate was 93.33 vs Australia in 2012.
