Veteran Indian batsman Rohit Sharma returned to the national side in the longest format of the game after a long break. Rohit was drafted in the playing eleven in the second Test against Sri Lanka at Nagpur. The hard-hitting batsman was quite ecstatic to be back in the India whites on the field. His joy was pretty much evident for all to see.

In fact, it was evident on the big screen for all to see – literally! During the opening hour of the day’s play, Rohit Sharma caught hold of the spider cam at the venue. He had a few funny faces to show to the cam as he held it in his hands. The crowds saw it on the big screen and had their share of fun and laughter too. All in all, it looked quite jovial for everyone.

Rohit Sharma was one of the three changes that the Indian team made for the match. Rohit came in at the place of Bhuvneshwar Kumar. His inclusion seemed to be a surprising one. However, skipper Virat Kohli justified the inclusion of Rohit in the playing eleven. He mentioned that the management wants him to get a game under his belt.

Meanwhile, the other two changes were pretty straightforward. Ishant Sharma came in the side for Mohammad Shami, who suffered a slight niggle ahead of the match. The third change was in the opening slot. Murali Vijay, the seasoned opener, came in for Shikhar Dhawan, who was released from the squad ahead of the second Test.

Commenting on Rohit’s inclusion, he seemed to be a regular starter for the Indian team in Tests as well last year. However, with Hardik Pandya arriving at the scene, the team found a greater balance with the all-rounder in the line up.
