Sri Lanka have to overcome their failures in the recent past and also their historical record to have a chance of winning the Test series or even win a game in India. The Lankan side lost 19 of their last 22 International games including nine out of nine against India at home recently. The Island side is yet to win a Test match on Indian soil and will be looking to end the jinx something teams full of greats from their nation couldn’t achieve.

34 – Sri Lanka have lost 34 matches in International cricket in 2017 so far. These are the most number of losses for any team in a calendar year. The previous record was in the name of Zimbabwe who lost 32 Internationals in 2015.


90.8 – Cheteshwar Pujara‘s batting average in Test cricket against Sri Lanka. This is the best batting average for any player in India-Sri Lanka Test matches. (Min: 5 innings) Shikhar Dhawan has got the 2nd best batting average in IND-SL Tests of 86.66.


190 – Dilruwan Perera’s bowling average of 190 in Tests against India is the 2nd worst for any player in India-Sri Lanka Test matches. (Min: 500 balls bowled) Asoka de Silva averaged 376 with the ball as he picked up one wicket for 376 runs in IND-SL Tests.
