Australia’s 236 was under-par, but they didn’t give up. Dhawan fell for a first-ball duck in the run chase by Counter Nile. The captain/vice-captain duo then steadied the innings with a 76-run partnership but Zampa got better of Kohli (44) and Rohit wasn’t at his best as he also got out after a sluggish inning of (37). When the local lad – Rayudu – was dismissed, India would have felt the pressure with the scoreboard reading 99/4. But an unbeaten half-century from Dhoni (59) and Jadav (81) ensure that there were no more hiccups in this run chase.

Shami and Kuldeep were exceptional with the ball, Shami bowled with fire and intent and Kuldeep was exceptional as always, he always gets a wicket or two in every match, batsman finds difficult to pick his variations. Australia poor run in the ODI continues, each batsman got start but none of them continued to pile up a big score, Finch hasn’t been in best of form, his scores in last 7 innings are 0, 14, 6, 6, 11, 41, 5. If Australia needs to win this match, he needs to get some runs as he is the best batsman in this lineup.

The move to send Marcus Stoinis up the order hasn’t paid them, with Shaun Marsh expecting to be back in the playing eleven, he would go back to his normal position, while Alex Carey/Peter Handscomb could make way for Marsh. Meanwhile, India may go with the same playing eleven as they played in 1st ODI
