After the two-match T20I series, staged in Visakhapatnam and Bangalore respectively, Australia are now scheduled to play five ODIs against India, starting tomorrow at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. The Aussies are expected to be high on confidence, courtesy of their 2-0 victory in the 20-overs fixtures. On the other hand, the Men in Blue would want to make amends.

Nagpur, Ranchi, Mohali and Delhi are the venues for the remaining four encounters. All the games are day-night contests. Both the teams arrived in Hyderabad on Thursday afternoon. In the meantime, there are concerns over hosting the fourth and penultimate ODI of the series at the renowned PCA IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali on Sunday, March 10 as per reports in Xtra Time.

CA keeping track of the situation

The Pulwama Attacks on February 14, conducted by Pakistan-based terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammad, has sent shockwaves around the entire nation. The tensions between the two nations are at an all-time high and could end up affecting the fourth ODI between the arch-rivals. In the meantime, Cricket Australia (CA) is taking a stock of the situation following the horrendous incident.

The team’s security officer and the people responsible for looking after the Australian cricketer’s security had a long chat at the team hotel on Thursday, February 28. It has now been learned that CA is in constant touch with the team management, surrounding the grave matter. At this point in time, talks of shifting the venue for the game haven’t escalated.

However, if the situation demands, the game could be shifted to either M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore, which hosted the second and final T20I, or the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, which is set to host the opening match of this edition’s Indian Premier League (IPL) between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
