The 1st Day-Night Test between India and Australia is on, and India would be trying its best to retain the glory. While winning the toss, India chose to bat first and Mayank Agarwal and young Prithvi Shaw opened the order for India. The Australian bowling set up decided to dominate on the very first day itself. Shaw got troubled by Mitchell Starc’s perfect delivery and went back to the pavilion after facing just two deliveries.

Mayank Agarwal also couldn’t settle well before he was stunned by Pat Cummins’ peach of a delivery. However, Cheteshwar Pujara and Indian skipper Virat Kohli were determined enough on the crease to fetch big for India. However, Australia made a mistake even there to not opt for DRS, and that too in Kohli’s case. During 36th over, Lyon was up with the ball. It was a short delivery that spun down Kohli’s leg. The fielders even appealed, and Aussies had a chat to go up either for review or not.

Here is the video:

However, they didn’t take the review, and later, it was revealed on the hotspot that Kohli gloved it, and the delivery could have dismissed him. Since then, Kohli got confident enough to move up his show in full rhythm. While India lost their two wickets early in the game, the next batters in line gave in their best. Pujara also added his 43 runs in the game. Kohli added 74 runs from his bat before he got out due to some poor communication with Ajinkya Rahane.

Virat Kohli lost his wicket in an unfortunate manner

Rahane and Kohli were forming a great partnership, and Australia was down with some pressure before something unfortunate happened. Rahane called Kohli for a run in the 77th over but stopped while he was midway. Kohli got ran-out, and it came as a major blow for the Indian team during the evening time. Though Rahane apologized for his actions, the destruction had already happened for the team. It will be a thing to watch as to how India will take their game up in the first Test.
