Virat Kohli is surely not in the best of form. The last time he scored a Test century was in the year 2019, and now he has gone 9 innings without a Test hundred. Also, out of these 9 innings, he has been dismissed for a score of less than 20 on 7 occasions.

In the first innings of the second Test against England at Chennai, the Indian skipper was out for a duck. To a delivery from Moeen Ali that spun sharply, Kohli went for the drive, the ball sneaked through the gap between bat and pad and his stumps were dislodged. In fact, he could not believe his luck after he was dismissed, and stood in the middle for a while, unable to come to terms with what had happened.

Even as a captain, Virat Kohli has endured some torrid times. In the last 4 matches that he has led the side, the Indian team has lost every single Test match. And now, the Barmy Army, England’s famous fan group has brutally roasted Kohli for his reaction. They posted the video of Kohli’s dismissal, and captioned it, “Going to the kitchen to make a cuppa tea but realizing there’s no milk in the fridge.”

Here’s the tweet:

Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane make the visitors toil

Aa far as the second Test match is concerned, Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane have made the England bowlers toil under the hot sun at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The duo came together at the fall of Virat Kohli’s wicket with the scorecard reading 86/3. They added 162 runs for the fourth wicket putting India in a strong position.

But apart from Rishabh Pant, none of the other batsmen stayed in the middle and it was a kind of a collapse as India was bowled out for 329 runs on the second innings. Apart from Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill was the other batsman in the top four who failed to open his account. The hosts will be keen on skittling England as early as possible.

India are in search of a victory in the second Test, not only to keep their chances in the series alive, but also to keep their hopes of qualifying for the World Test Championship alive as well.
