Ishan Kishan made a stunning debut in international cricket earlier this month. After earning his maiden India call-up for the ongoing T20I series against England, the youngster warmed the bench for the first game before being handed his debut in the second game. He made the most of it by blasting a whirlwind fifty.

Chasing 165, India were off to a poor start as they lost KL Rahul for a six-ball duck. But before England could make further inroads, Kishan launched a stunning counterattack by taking the bowlers to the cleaners. He slammed 56 off just 32 balls with the help of 5 fours and 4 sixes. Kishan also shared a decisive 94-run stand with captain Virat Kohli to lay the foundation for the chase.

India went on to win the game and Kishan walked away with the Man of the Match award on his debut. Unfortunately, he could not deliver in the third T20I and was out for a 9-ball 4. England won that match by 8 wickets to take the lead in the series. Unsurprisingly, the Indian cricketing fraternity was waiting keenly to see how the youngster reacted after the failure.

Ishan Kishan misses out from crucial 4th T20I

Surprisingly, Ishan Kishan was not named in the playing eleven for the fourth game. And the reason behind his omission was revealed by skipper Virat Kohli at the toss. The 32-year old revealed that the southpaw missed out due to a groin injury. Kohli also confirmed that Suryakumar Yadav has replaced Kishan in the team.

“This pitch looks the best in terms of hardness and evenness. Take pride in getting the job done. It doesn’t always have to be do-or-die situation for you to bring out your best. You need to be in the best frame of mind, that’s something we are looking to do tonight. One forced and one to give Rahul Chahar a chance. Chahal misses out. Ishan Kishan had a groin strain. Suryakumar will replace him,” said Virat Kohli at the toss

Suryakumar Yadav will be looking to make the most of the chance after being surprisingly dropped for the third game. Along with Kishan, Suryakumar had also made his debut in the second T20I. But unlike Kishan, he did not get a chance to bat in the game.
