India vs England Tickets: How to buy tickets online for the 2nd Test at Chennai?

The second Test of the ongoing series between India and England will see the spectators returning to the stands for the first time since the COVID-19 outbreak in March last year. The Indian fans have not watched an international game from the stands since the ODI against Australia in January last year. Action around the world came to a standstill in March.

Fortunately, things have been improving over the last couple of months. The likes of Australia and New Zealand have already welcomed the fans in the stadiums and the Indian authorities are now all set to follow suit this month. The ongoing first Test in Chennai is being played behind closed doors because the authorities did not get permission to allow the fans inside the stadium in time.

But the second Test, which will be also played in Chennai, will see the return of fans. So as Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) gear up to welcome the fans, here is all the information you need if you are one of the fans who want to watch the action from the stands.

Where can you book the tickets for the second India vs England Test?

The tickets for the second Test in Chennai will be only available online. In order to ensure the necessary social distancing norms, the authorities have decided that the tickets will not be sold over the counter or at the stadium Box Office. For fans interested in buying the tickets, they can visit www.paytm.com & www.insider.in to get the tickets.

When can you buy the tickets?

The second Test of the ongoing four-match series is scheduled to start on February 13. And as far as the tickets’ availability is concerned, one can buy them from February 8, 10:00 AM onwards. On the other hand, the redemption of the tickets will be at 10 AM on February 11 at the stadium. Booth No.3 located on Victoria Hostel Road will be used for this purpose. Fans also need to maintain the necessary social distancing in addition to wearing the mask.

Price of the tickets

For the first time since 2012, the I, J and K stands will be opened for the fans. However, only 50% of the seats at the stadium will be available for the fans. TNCA has already announced the prices for the tickets. The daily ticket prices are ‘C, D, E’ Lower Rs. 100/-, ‘D, E’ Upper Rs. 150/-, ‘F, H, I, J, K’ Lower Rs. 150/- ‘I, J, K’ Upper Rs. 200/-.
