A battered Sri Lanka will take on an upbeat India in the second and final Test of the two-match series between the two sides. The first Test was a total one-way traffic, as India pounded their opponents by an innings and 222 runs.

For India, Ravindra Jadeja was the man who stole the spotlight. The all-rounder plundered a superb 175*and followed that up by scalping nine wickets to power India to victory. India will also be pleased with the fact that their wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant chipped in with a resplendent 96 at a strike rate of almost 100.

Needless to say, India will enter the second Test with a lot of confidence. Their bowling attack looks menacing, and all their top-order batters got off to good starts as well in the first rubber. On the other hand, Sri Lanka got nothing right in the first Test.

None of their bowlers could even scalp more than two wickets, and their batters cut a sorry figure. In both innings, the Sri Lankan side could not even score 200 runs. This match will also be a Day-Night affair, will be played with a pink ball, and will take place in Virat Kohli’s ‘second’ home ground, Bangalore. India will once again start as the overwhelming favourites in this encounter, whereas Sri Lanka will be hoping to upset Rohit Sharma and Co.

Pitch and Conditions

The pitch is expected to be a good one for batting, and if the willow wielders can be patient, they will be rewarded. The spinners will get some help on this pitch as we enter the later stages of the game.

Playing Combinations for India vs Sri Lanka

India

The only change that India will be contemplating is bringing in Axar Patel for Jayant Yadav. Other than that, there will be no tinkering done to the lineup.

Right-handed batter Pathum Nissanka has been ruled out of this contest after suffering an injury to his back, and Kusal Mendis will replace him. Also, Praveen Jayawickrama might come in for Lahiru Kumara, who might not feature in the game because of a hamstring issue.
