Rohit Sharma and his team continued their dominance over West Indies when they defeated the Caribbean side in the first T20I by six wickets at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The second match of the T20I series takes place at the same venue on February 18, 2022. For West Indies to keep the series alive they need to win the match to take it to the final game to be played on Sunday, the 20th.

Ravi Bishnoi made headlines in the first match when he snared two wickets for 17 runs on his very first international match. The leg-spinner got rewarded with the Player of the Match award later after India’s victory.

Except for hard-hitting Nicholas Pooran and skipper Kieron Pollard, nobody rose to the occasion for the men in maroon. Brandon King hasn’t been able to give the team a good start for what he is known for in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). The team also missed the services of tall all-rounder Jason Holder who was injured.

With experienced Holder expected to return for the second match, Pollard will be hoping to turn it around for his side and square the series 1-1 by winning the first game on the tour. Team India will look to inflict more misery on the Windies side who look well short of ideas by sealing the match and the series and go into the dead rubber on February 20.
