Suryakumar Yadav played a blistering knock of 65 off just 31 deliveries including one four and seven sixes with Venkatesh Iyer also scoring an unbeaten 35 off 19 balls to help India post 184/5 in the third T20I against West Indies. India eventually won by 17 runs.

Iyer backed up his great batting performance with the ball as well as he took two wickets for 23 runs in 2.1 overs including the big wicket of Kieron Pollard. With this victory, India inflicted another whitewash on West Indies after the ODI series.

Speaking about the third and final T20I, the Caribbean side won the toss and opted to bowl first. Both sides made four changes from the previous match as Ruturaj Gaikwad opened the innings with Ishan Kishan. Gaikwad fell cheaply for just four runs with Kishan again playing a slow inning of 34 off 31 balls.

Rohit Sharma who batted at no. four in T20Is for the first time since 2018 made only seven runs. A solid 91 runs fifth-wicket partnership between Suryakumar Yadav and Venkatesh Yadav took India to 184/5.

In the run chase, Nicholas Pooran again scored a fifty, the third consecutive half-century in the series, as no other batter troubled the Indian bowling line-up. Rovman Powell scored 25 off 14 but fell prey to Harshal Patel as this time he failed to support Pooran for long.

Power-hitter Pooran played a lone hand of 61 runs as he mustered 184 runs in the series, the most by a West Indies player in a three-match T20I bilateral series. Harshal Patel also bowled brilliantly for his spell of 3/22 in four overs.

Suryakumar Yadav was declared as the Player of the Match for his free-flowing innings of 65 runs. India completed a 6-0 whitewash over the West Indies across formats as they now host Sri Lanka for a T20I series starting February 24, 2022, in Lucknow.
