India set to take on the Windies in a two-match Test series starting from October 4 which will witnesses some new faces from both the sides. India set to trail new set of openers and rested some of their key pace bowlers in view of the forthcoming Test series in Australia.

The Jason Holder led Windies Test team has also included some new faces for this series. The Caribbean side has not produced convincing results in the longer format recently against the top-ranked teams. They will be looking to change their fortunes with the inclusion of the new blood.

All the approaching milestones for the players ahead of the India-Windies Test series:

49 – Kraigg Brathwaite has featured in 49 Test matches in his career thus far. He has scored 3,263 runs at an average of 37.94 with eight centuries.


97Mohammed Siraj, who received his maiden Test call-up, needs three more wickets to complete 100 FC wickets. The pacer has taken 97 wickets in only 20 FC games at an average of 18.92.


198 – Jason Holder has claimed 198 wickets in his international career thus far – 81 in Tests, 110 in ODIs and 7 in T20Is. The leg-spinner Devendra Bishoo needs three more wickets to complete 150 international wickets having taken 147 in his career so far.


493 – The Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin (493) needs seven more wickets to complete 500 wickets in first-class cricket. His spin-twin, Ravindra Jadeja (4,999) needs one more run to complete 5,000 first-class runs.


1811 – The Indian opener KL Rahul is 189 runs short of reaching 2,000 runs in Test cricket. Windies’ left-handed batsman Kieran Powell needs 119 more runs for completing the same milestone.


1906 – The Indian wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant, who will turn 21 this October, needs 94 more runs to complete 2000 first-class runs. Pant has scored 1906 runs in his 26-match FC career at an average of 50.15 and a strike-rate of 91.5.


2921 – Runs Virat Kohli has scored in Test cricket on the Indian soil. The Indian skipper needs 79 more runs to become the 11th player to score 3,000 Test runs in India. Kohli has a batting average of 63.5 in Test matches in India which is the highest among the player with 2000+ runs.


4809 – Runs Cheteshwar Pujara has scored in his Test career thus far. He needs 181 more runs to become the 12th Indian to score 5,000 Test runs. Pujara also needs 199 more runs to complete 14,000 runs in first-class cricket.
