Indian skipper Dhoni’s biopic MS Dhoni the Untold story faces delay: If a report by a daily tabloid Mid-Day is to be believed, Indian skipper MS Dhoni’s biopic MS Dhoni the Untold story which stars bollywood actor Sushant Singht Rajput in the lead role playing MSD faces yet another delay in the schedule of the film. The Rhiti Sports Management Production film is now likely to start rolling in June says sources.
The delay is believed to have happened because of the recent changes that have taken place in Dhoni’s life, first his test retirement came out of nowhere, then the birth of his daughter Ziva and India’s world cup 2015 exit. All these events needed to be amended into the script of the movie which promises to give an insight into the Ranchi boy’s life and depict the untold story on the silver screen.
They quoted a movie insider saying, “The film was supposed to go on floors last year, but was postponed when Dhoni suddenly decided to hang up his Test boots. The script had to be reworked to include his retirement. Now, recent developments like India losing their World Cup campaign at the semi final stage preceded by the birth of Dhoni’s daughter, Ziva, also need to be incorporated in the script. That is the reason for the delay in starting the film’s shoot,”
Another source confirms this news, “But we are all positive about the project and Sushant has been working really hard for it. There have been constant delays in the project due to recent developments in Dhoni’s personal and professional life. We were supposed to start shooting for the film this month, but now the schedule has been pushed ahead to June. We want to showcase the facts of Dhoni’s life in the film and that’s the biggest challenge for us. Hence, the delay,”
Neither the director nor the spokespersons are willing to comment on it at the moment.
