In the scorching heat of Chennai, both teams, who have had an identical run (W3 L1) in the league this season so far, will collide in the first of the doubleheader scheduled to be played on Saturday. Despite Chennai losing their last game, they have an edge over Punjab – who have won their last two games – purely due to their superior record while playing at home.
With big stars participating in both camps, fantasy team pickers will have a tough time while picking their squads. Two calypso giants – Dwayne Bravo and Chris Gayle – will miss the action due to injuries but despite that, there are enough T20 specialists to choose your squads from. With Bravo missing, Chennai may pick rookie allrounder Scott Kuggeleijn to maintain the balance of their side.
Injury Updates: Bravo will remain on the sidelines for 2 weeks with a Grade One Hamstring tear while Gayle is fit.
Likely XIs
Chennai: Shane Watson, Ambati Rayudu, Suresh Raina, Kedar Jadhav, MS Dhoni (C and WK), Faf du Plessis, Ravindra Jadeja, Scott Kuggeleijn, Harbhajan Singh/ Deepak Chahar, Shardul Thakur and Imran Tahir.
Punjab: KL Rahul(wk), Sam Curran, Mayank Agarwal, Sarfaraz Khan, David Miller, Mandeep Singh, Hardus Viljoen, Ravichandran Ashwin (C), Murugan Ashwin, Mohammed Shami and Mujeeb Ur Rahman
Dotball Team for head to head/small leagues :
Wicket-keeper: KL Rahul
Batsmen: Suresh Raina, Mayank Agarwal, David Miller
Bowlers: Imran Tahir (C), Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Deepak Chahar (VC)
All-rounders: Kedar Jadhav, Shane Watson, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja.
Captain and Vice-Captain choices
The Chepauk pitch will assist the spinners and with Tahir in such great form, he seems to be an ideal pick as captain. The new ball will offer something to the pacers as well which is why Deepak Chahar has been picked as the vice-captain especially since Dhoni uses him a lot upfront.
Fantasy Tips
Expect another contest which will be dominated by the slow bowlers and it won’t be a bad option to pick a spin-heavy fantasy team. Young Scott Kuggeleijn could be an X-factor but will have to deal with a lot of nerves if he is picked by Chennai.

Dream 11 Team for Head to Head/Small Leagues
Wicket-keeper: KL Rahul
Batsmen: Suresh Raina (C), David Miller, Kedar Jadhav, Mayank Agarwal, Sarfaraz Khan
Bowlers: Imran Tahir, Deepak Chahar, Mohammed Shami
All-rounders: Ravindra Jadeja, Sam Curran (VC)
Fantasy Tips
With Punjab spending big bucks to acquire the services of Sam Curran, the allrounder proved his mettle with a superb performance in the previous game and will again be a crucial player due to his dual role. Watson and Agarwal are due for runs and so is Raina. Keep an eye on Mujeeb as he will find the going easy at the Chepauk.
