Kolkata and Rajasthan will take on each other for the match no 21 of the Indian T20 league at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Kolkata are extremely high on confidence after winning three out of their four games, courtesy Andre Russell, who blasts on all cylinders in every game. Rajasthan, on the other hand, will be hoping to make the most of their home advantage and stop the unstoppable Kolkata side. Here’s all you need to know before picking your Fantain XI for the Kolkata vs Rajasthan game.

Venue –Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur

Team news – Kolkata

Historically, Kolkata do not usually fiddle much with their playing XI. Even during Gautam Gambhir’s captaincy, the starting XI rarely changed. But their fast bowlers are not up to the mark and it remains to be seen what Dinesh Karthik does about that.

Likely playing XI

Sunil Narine, Chris Lynn, Robin Uthappa, Nitish Rana, Dinesh Karthik (C & Wk), Shubman Gill, Andre Russell, Lockie Fergusson, Piyush Chawla, Kuldeep Yadav, Prasidh Krishna.

Team News – Rajasthan

Sanju Samson was dearly missed in the previous game and there is still no clarity over his participation against Kolkata. Jaydev Unadkat’s form would be a huge worry for Ajinkya Rahane.

Likely playing XI

Ajinkya Rahane (C), Jos Buttler (WK), Sanju Samson, Steven Smith, Rahul Tripathi, Ben Stokes, K Gowtham, Jofra Archer, Shreyas Gopal, Dhawal Kulkarni, Jaydev Unadkat.

Top picks

Andre Russell – The West Indies all-rounder is the man of the moment in this edition of the Indian T20 league. He was awarded the man of the match in all the three games Kolkata have won this season, and that explains how many points he can get you on your Fantain XI.

Shreyas Gopal – Shreyas Gopal’s bowling against the Bangalore team was the game changing factor. He is in an overall good form this year, with a bowling average of 9.89 in the Twenty20 matches in 2019.

Chris Lynn – The opening batsman had a silent this season far until the match against Bangalore, where he announced himself as Kolkata’s big asset. His knock of 43 was crucial to Kolkata chasing down a target of 206 at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. Lynn looks in good form and will be hoping to carry that from Bangalore to Jaipur.

Jos Buttler – After a knock of 69 against Punjab, Buttler’s bat was quiet for the next two games but he roared back again against the Bangalore team with a knock of 59. On his day, he can demolish the best of bowling line-ups, and Kolkata’s pace battery isn’t too effective anyway.

Nitish Rana – Much like Russell, Rana has consistently performed well for Kolkata this season and will be looking forward to doing the same against Rajasthan.
