Mumbai’s 3-match winning streak was broken by Rajasthan on Saturday as they slumped to a 4-wicket loss while Bangalore finally put an end to their string of defeats when they overhauled Punjab’s target of 174 with 8 wickets to spare on Saturday. Despite their respective results, nothing changed on the points table. Bangalore are still languishing at the bottom while Mumbai are on the 3rd spot.

From Bangalore’s point of view, every game is a knockout from here on. On the other hand, Mumbai wouldn’t want to stall their momentum and get back to winning ways when they host Kohli’s men at the Wankhede on Monday. Whenever Bangalore and Mumbai are in action, there is no shortage of power as both teams possess big T20 stars. On the bowling front, Bangalore’s Chahal has had an outstanding run while Bumrah has had a decent time for Mumbai.

If you are sitting down to pick your fantasy team, you will have plenty of selection dilemma. Hardik Pandya has to be the first man on that list due to his prowess in all 3 disciplines of the game. After a lacklustre start, Kohli is back to his usual self, scoring runs with minimum fuss while de Villiers has also found his range after an indifferent start. There will be plenty to choose from but remember there is a cap on credits. Players like Moeen Ali and Stoinis – who both had a wonderful outing in the last game – could prove to be effective options.

Injury Updates: Alzarri Joseph jammed his shoulder on the turf and is expected to miss this clash.

Dotball Prediction:

Dotball team for Head to Head/Small Contests:

Wicket-Keeper: Quinton de Kock

Batsmen: Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Keiron Pollard

All-Rounders: Moeen Ali, Hardik Pandya (C), Marcus Stoinis

Bowlers: Jason Behrendroff, Yuzvendra Chahal (VC), Navdeep Saini, Jasprit Bumrah

Captain and Vice-Captain choices:

Captain: Pandya’s strike rate is surging post every outing. In the previous game, the Indian all-rounder smashed a rollicking 11-ball 28* to add impetus in an otherwise dull finish by his team. His average this season has soared to 37.25 with a strike rate of 183.95. He has also delivered with the ball during crucial junctures of the game for his captain.

Vice-Captain: Chahal’s masterful bowling played a pivotal role in stalling Punjab’s momentum in the middle overs. He bamboozled Rahul and Mayank Agarwal with deliveries which would have made Shane Warne proud. Chahal’s keenness to get among the wickets has always paid rich dividends for both himself and the users.

Fantasy Tips

Moeen’s spell of 1 for 19 off 4 overs almost went unnoticed but played a big hand in scripting Bangalore’s first win of the season. He can also tonk the ball during the latter part of the innings. Stoinis, like Moeen, also contributed to the cause with a crisp unbeaten 28. Both are expected to play key roles for their franchise yet again.

Safe Captain Choices:

Hardik Pandya

Yuzvendra Chahal

Virat Kohli

Risky Captain Choices:

Moeen Ali

Mohammed Siraj

Parthiv Patel

Dotball Team for Large/Grand Contests:

Wicket-Keeper: Parthiv Patel

Batsmen: AB de Villiers, Rohit Sharma, Keiron Pollard (C)

All-Rounders: Pawan Negi, Moeen Ali (VC), Krunal Pandya

Bowlers: Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Yuzvendra Chahal, Rahul Chahar

Captain and Vice-Captain choices:

Captain: Pollard might have missed out in the previous innings but is in great form this year (185 runs @ 37 S/R – 177.88). With Mumbai giving him more deliveries to play with by batting him at No. 4, the West Indian has a great chance to play another big inning.

Vice-Captain: With Stoinis’ apparent weakness against the spinners, Bangalore might give Moeen a promotion to tackle legspinner Chahar and left-arm spinner Krunal Pandya. Moeen is a wristy player and is very comfortable while playing spin bowling and could add impetus during the middle overs.

Fantasy Tips

Because Gayle was going great guns, left-arm spinner Negi wasn’t used with the ball by Kohli in the previous game. But the all-rounder has shown good control in the limited opportunities this year and can be a handful against the likes of Pollard and Hardik. Chahar will look to bowl googlies to Kohli and de Villiers after both were found wanting by legspinner Shreyas Gopal.

Dream 11 Prediction

Suggested Playing XI No. 1 for Head to Head/Small Leagues

Wicket-keeper – Quinton de Kock (VC)

Batsmen – AB de Villiers, Virat Kohli (C), Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan

All-Rounders – Moeen Ali, Hardik Pandya

Bowlers – Yuzvendra Chahal, Navdeep Saini, Lasith Malinga, Rahul Chahar

Fantasy Tips

Saini’s pace was hard to put away as the quick bowler returned with 0 for 23 in 4 overs. He can pose problems to Rohit and de Kock with the new ball. Malinga’s return will bolster Mumbai Indians as he will shoulder the death bowling responsibility with Bumrah.

Suggested Playing XI No.2 for Grand/ Mega Leagues:

Wicket-keeper – Parthiv Patel

Batsmen – AB de Villiers (C), Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav (VC)

All-Rounders – Marcus Stoinis, Krunal Pandya

Bowlers – Umesh Yadav, Navdeep Saini, Lasith Malinga, Jasprit Bumrah.

Fantasy Tips

Suryakumar Yadav has looked in good touch and is likely to put up a big performance. Krunal returned to form with a 3-wicket haul which must have given him a lot of confidence. His record against de Villiers is exceptional and the battle between both will be one to watch out for.
