Match Details

The 10th game of the Indian T20 League between Bangalore and Kolkata will be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on 18th April 2021.

The match will start at 3:30 PM IST. The live streaming will be available on the Hotstar app and website.

Preview

Bangalore have started their campaign of the 2021 season with two consecutive wins and their wins will give their team a lot of confidence going into the match against Kolkata, with whom they don’t have a good record historically. Kolkata, on the other hand, are coming into this game after facing a terrible loss against Mumbai.

They have two points against their name, having won the match against Hyderabad, which was their first match of the tournament. The pitch in Chennai is likely to be slow and will help bowlers with lots of variation to extract some advantage. It is an afternoon match, hence dew is unlikely to play a role in the match.

In fact, the pitch could also help the spinners slightly more than it did in the previous match. Considering all these factors and looking at the line-up, there is little to no doubt that the match will be a closely fought one.

Probable Playing XIs for BLR vs KOL

Captaincy picks for BLR vs KOL

Glenn Maxwell (Bangalore)

The Australian all-rounder has proved all his critics wrong in the first two matches. He has scored 98 runs in two innings so far with the bat in this tournament. Surprisingly, on a pitch where batsmen have struggled to find the timing, Maxwell’s strike rate so far has been 142. With Rana to open for Kolkata, Maxwell could also be tried by Kohli as a power-play bowler as he bowls handy off-spin, with the angle troubling the left-hander.

Nitish Rana (Kolkata)

The left-handed batsman has been enjoying his batting since he got a promotion to bat at the top of the order. The southpaw has not yet put a foot wrong. He scored a brilliant 80 against Hyderabad and then followed that with a 57 runs knock against Mumbai. He is likely to open again and his record while opening the innings is quite good.
