A humbling defeat at Lord’s has left the fans worried about their team competing in the five-match Test series. Team India lost the second Test effectively inside two days and were expected to hit the straps soo to resurrect their issues. The batsmen were under the scanner, especially who literally looked clueless against the moving ball. However, more eyebrows are being raised now as they are yet to take the field in the last three days.

The visitors opted for an off day on Sunday which was understandable as they were thumped by their opponents. But the team continued to stay in London and will travel to Nottingham on Wednesday. They will start training on Thursday, only two days before the third Test. The batsmen will then get only a couple of sessions before they face the likes of James Anderson and Stuart Broad again.

What are they doing?

While the former cricketers have been critical of the Team India for not preparing well enough ahead of the series, even this approach will go down in the wrong direction now. However, the sources close to the team have highlighted the fact that practice sessions at this stage of the tour won’t make a significant difference.

“Coaches talk to the team, try to tell the players where they are going wrong and then work on that in the nets. Extra practice doesn’t make any difference at this stage of the tour,” the source was quoted as saying by the Times of India. But will the batsmen be able to work on their deficiencies only in a couple of days after a pep talk from the coaches? It remains to be seen if there will be any improvement in their performance come the third Test.

The criticism is only growing and while the fans would’ve loved to see some of the struggling players to hit the straps at least, the visitors have stayed indoors keeping to themselves.
