Indian cricketer Abhinav Mukund recently took to social media platform Twitter to express his views on racism. The cricketer highlighted the fact that he has been subjected to racial abuse many times in his life and he wanted to share his point of view. The left handed batsman mentioned that he belongs to southern India and hails from the state of Chennai, which is one of the hottest in the country. Mukund stated that his skin tone is a reflection of the scorching heat because he had to spend a lot of time playing cricket under the sun. However, the batsman is not at all ashamed of his skin colour.

Mukund also added that he is not speaking only on his behalf but for all who have faced racial abuse in life. Abhinav Mukund in a heart-warming message asked people to stop discriminating on the basis of skin colour. He also advised people to stay strong, believe and not to be ashamed for their skin tone. He ended it with a beautiful line which went like “fair is not the only handsome”.

The main story:

Some of his India team mates came in support of the cricketer’s wise words on Twitter. Ravichandran Ashwin, Hardik Pandya and Manoj Tiwary backed him on his statement and hailed the cricketer for his pure mentality. Manoj Tiwary applauded what Mukund wrote as he tweeted “Well said ABHINAV” in his reply. Hardik Pandya, who is going through a dream phase in his career said that Abhinav Mukund hit the bull’s eye with his message. Pandya absolutely loved what Mukund had to say as he replied “Muk on point. I love”.

Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin asked everyone to read and take a note of the message. he advised people to learn from it. Ashwin requested the mass to not make this a headline or a top story because it has someone’s emotions attached with it. Ashwin’s tweet read “Read and learn, don’t make it a headline cos its someone’s emotion,”.

Mukund came up with a clarification this morning that his message has absolutely no relation with the Indian team. Mukul urged his fans to not make it a political issue too.

“Guys please don’t turn this into something else,it has absolutely no connection to anyone in the team. It is mainly targeted at people Who have been posting abuses about colour and saying absolutely derogatory things about the tone of my skin. That s all !,” he tweeted.

He further appealed,”Please don’t turn this into something political,I just wanted to make a positive statement hoping to make a change. That’s all.” he concluded.
