The whole country is celebrating India’s 72nd Independence Day as the cricketing fraternity is also showering their patriotism. The messages dedicated to the love of the country are flooding on social media even as the Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik has also wished all the Indians on this auspicious occasion. Moreover, his lovely wish to his wife Sania Mirza is trending as well.

The couple exchanged marriage vows back in 2010 after a lot of controversies. The Indian Tennis star had then cleared that her nationality will remain the same and she will continue to represent India at the highest level even after marrying to Shoaib. She is currently on a break from the sport as they are expecting a child in October this year.

The debate about their child being Indian or Pakistani has also increased as they have already made it clear that don’t pay heed to such comments. Sania, in a recent interview, also went on to say that she hasn’t married the cricketer to unite India and Pakistan.

“A lot of people have this notion that Shoaib and I got married to unite the two countries. That is not true. Whenever I have been to Pakistan – and I go once every year to meet my in-laws – the love that I get there is immense. The whole country calls me ‘bhabhi’, and they give me so much respect,” she said while speaking to HT Brunch.

Special wish

Shoaib Malik didn’t forget to wish all the Indian fans on the Independence Day and also specially mentioned his wife in the tweet. His gesture has won the hearts of the nation as everyone is gushing over the same. “Wishing Indians all over the globe (specially the one at home) a very #HappyIndepenceDayIndia,” he tweeted.
