‘Better late than never’ is what Indian speedster S. Sreesanth had to say when asked about his views on the high court order. He also said that he wants to be remembered as a cricketer and looks forward to get back on the field. He aims to start playing for his state Kerala and subsequently make a comeback into the Indian team again.

On being asked about his preparations, the fast bowler said that he is very well prepared for the games and set his sight on India’s tour of South Africa in 2018. He also feels that he is just a couple of games away from representing his state Ranji team.

“I  have been working hard on my fitness. If I have a couple of good matches, I can play for Kerala as soon as possible. So, I want to get myself ready for the Ranji Trophy season. A good season there should help me get back into the scheme of things for the national team as well. India is touring South Africa in 2018 and obviously that is my target” he said to Mumbai Mirror.

He is confident about a good show if given an opportunity. Sreesanth said that he has done well in South Africa and England, where the ball swings. He also added that he feels lucky enough to have been a part of two successful World Cup campaigns.

Sree has played 27 Test matches, 53 ODIs and 10 T20Is for India, picking 87,75 and 7 wickets respectively. He last turned out for India during India’s tour of England in 2011. The Kerala High Court had stated that Sreesanth played no direct role in the 2013 IPL match fixing scandal and his confession which was followed was forced upon him.

He was not provided with an NOC to play in the Scotland Cricket League, was banned from all BCCI tournaments and affiliated units’ grounds.
