Chennai Super King’s middle-order Kedar Jadhav helped the side start their campaign on a winning note in the final over of the match when he came out to bat even after the injured leg after the wicket of all-rounder Dwyane Bravo. The match looked under control of the home side Mumbai Indians before Dwyane Bravo’s blitz brought CSK back in the game.
However, it was injured Kedar Jadhav whose six and a four sealed the deal for the Chennai Superkings who made their return to the tournament after facing the suspension of 2 years. Jadhav got injured when he was bating on 14 but returned after the wicket of Bravo and finished the game on the penultimate ball of the game.
Jadhav after the match said that things don’t look good for him as he was in trouble because of the injury. “I am happy psychologically, but physically I am hurt. I might not play for the next couple of weeks,” Jadhav had said after the game.
Jadhav to undergo scans on Sunday in Chennai
Now, as per the Twitter handle of the franchise, the 33-year-old Kedar Jadhav will undergo various scans for the hamstring injury which means that Jadhav is set to miss few of the games for his new franchise at a very early stage of the tournament. CSK, in a detailed article on their website, stated that Jadhav will visit a Chennai hospital on Sunday to determine the extent of his hamstring injury.
CSK CEO KS Vishwanathan said that they will give an update on his participation once the extent of the injury is known after the scans report they get from the doctors on Sunday.
CSK are set to take on the Kolkata Knight Riders on 10th April for their 2nd encounter as they return at the MA Chidambaram stadium in Chennai. It looks like Jadhav might well miss the opportunity to play the first game in front of the home crowd.
