Watch: Inzamam and Yousuf get involved in a comedy of error run out dismissal: One of the most dramatic and comical run outs that one can ever get to witness, unfolded in the 1999 Coca Cola cup match where arch rivals India and Pakistan locked horns. Robin Singh was the bowler and Mohammed Yousuf (Known as Yousuf Yohanna earlier) took guard with Inzamam Ul Haq at the other end.

Robin Singh delivered the ball that clocked 116 kmph and Yousuf nudged it to the covers and raced to the other end to complete a quick single, but Inzamam had his eyes on the ball, and didn’t see his partner rushing towards him. Saba Karim threw straight at the stumps and Inzamam then raced to the other end. While it is not a surprise that Inzamam has gotten involved in this run out, as he is not a great runner between the wickets. But what is more tantalizing about this comedy of error like dismissal is that the umpires were bewildered and couldn’t come to a decisive conclusion as to who should make his walk towards the pavilion.

When Saba Karim hit the stumps both the batsmen had not reached the crease at the other end and that’s what mystified the umpires. Peter Manuel, the on field umpire communicated with the 3rd umpire and finally Yousuf was given out. It was one of those very rare dismissals and the video has ever since attracted lot of viewers on youtube as well.
