The Gujarat Lions recently received a huge blow as their star all-rounder Dwayne Bravo was ruled out of the ongoing IPL 10. Bravo had to bow out of the tournament owing to a hamstring injury. Coming to the tournament, Bravo had undergone a surgery and was recovering from the injury. There were speculations that the star player would be fit by the mid-stages of the season. However, the recovery seems to be taking more time than expected.

The Gujarat Lions camp expected him to be fit in time and the owner had earlier noted that he is being in constant touch with Dwayne Bravo tracking his recovery. Keshav Bansal, the team owner, recently disclosed the news of the ruling out of the all-rounder on the social media. He had tweeted, “Going to miss this Champion! Unfortunately, he has been ruled out this season due to injury! I wish him all the best for a speedy recovery!”

Now, the veteran all-rounder has come up with a heartfelt message for all those who are associated with the Gujarat Lions. Dwayne Bravo posted a note on his official social media handle and announced his exit from the tournament. He started off on an emotional note saying that he really wished to be the part of the Gujarat Lions camp this year. He wrote, “It is with deep regret that I announce my decision to withdraw from the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League, owing to my hamstring injury.”

Citing the reason for his exit, Dwayne Bravo remarked that despite being a regular member of the practice sessions, he is not feeling fully fit for the game. He deeply regrets the fact that he is unable to deliver for his team this season. “While recovery is going well and I have made vast improvement and have participated in team training with the Lions, my body is not ready to perform at its fullest potential,” he wrote.

“Unfortunately, I am simply not able to perform at my best which is what my team, fellow cricketers, and fans deserve,” noted Bravo.

He had caption going in with the note in his tweet. He called the decision to exit from the tournament as ‘one of the hardest’ for him in his career. He tweeted, “One of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make but it’s for the best.Thank you for your support & understanding #GujaratLions  #IPL2017”.
