The Rising Pune Supergiant almost sealed their playoffs spot with their 4th consecutive win as they defeated the Sunrisers Hyderabad by 12 runs, who faced their first home defeat in this IPL season. Pune managed to post only 148/8 despite three of their batsmen going scoring thirties.

On a track which was gripping a bit, Pune kept themselves in the game by taking wickets at regular intervals. While it was Ben Stokes’ all-round show put them in the game, a 5-fer including a hat-trick in the final over by Unadkat sealed the win for the visitors.

1 – David Warner became the first player to score 500+ runs in four consecutive IPL seasons. He has scored 500+ in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 seasons. Chris Gayle scored 500+ runs in three consecutive IPL seasons from 2011 to 2013.

1 – Number of boundaries hit in the first 10 overs by the Rising Pune Supergiant in their innings, the joint fewest in the first 10 overs of an innings in the IPL. RR vs RCB in 2009 and CSK vs KKR in 2011 also managed to hit just one boundary in their first 10 overs.

1 – Jaydev Unadkat’s hat-trick was the first hat-trick at the RGICS, Hyderabad in any format. A total of 175 matches have been played across all three formats at the venue but a hat-trick was never recorded before this.

2 – Number of five-wicket hauls in the IPL for Jaydev Unadkat. He is only the 2nd bowler after James Faulkner to take multiple 5-fers in the IPL.

3 – Number of balls Shardul Thakur has faced in IPL 2017. He got out on all the three balls. He became the first player in the history of IPL to bag golden ducks in three consecutive seasons. Overall, he is the 4th player after Ashok Dinda, Rahul Sharma and Gautam Gambhir to bag a duck in three consecutive IPL innings.

4 – Number of times David Warner has aggregated 500 runs in an IPL season, the joint-most times by any player. Virat Kohli has also done it in 4 different seasons.

39 – Number of balls Steven Smith faced without hitting a boundary in this game, the most by any player in an IPL innings. Ross Taylor faced 35 balls for DD in 2012 against RR without hitting a boundary.

151 – Number of sixes MS Dhoni has in the IPL so far. He became the 7th batsman to hit 150 sixes in the IPL.

197.56 – MS Dhoni’s batting strike-rate against Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the IPL. He has scored 81 runs in 41 balls vs Bhuvi in the IPL and never got out to him.

5014 – Runs scored by MS Dhoni as wicketkeeper in Twenty20 cricket. He is the first player to score 5000 T20 runs as a keeper.
