IPL 2015: RCB vs KXIP- Statistical Report: With batsmen going bonkers and pacers bowling really well, the Royal Challengers’ handsomely defeated the Kings XI Punjab by a huge margin. Here, we look at all the possible stats recorded during the game.
–> Chris Gayle became the fourth player to completed 3000 runs in IPL so far.
He is the first overseas player to achieve the 3000 run mark.
Gayle is also the fastest to complete 3000 IPL runs as he took 73 innings for that with next best being Suresh Raina in 109 innings.
–> Ten sixes or more have been hit by a player in Twenty20 innings on 29 occasions, with Chris Gayle doing it for 10 times.
–> Chris Gayle scored his 14th century in T20 format, easily most be anyone. Next on the list is Brendon McCullum with just 6 centuries.
Gayle scored his 5th century in T20s on Indian soild and overhauled David Warner’s record of 4 hundreds.
–> Sreenath Aravind completed 50 wickets in the Twenty 20 format when he picked up his third wicket in the game.
–> Mitchell Starc recorded his best figures in IPL and as well as Twnety20s with 4-0-15-4. His previous best in the league was 3-11 and his overall T20 best been was 3-20.
This was his first ever 4-wickets haul in overall T20 and IPL as well.
–> Starc and Aravind picked up a 4-wicket haul each as it was the only 2nd instance when two bowlers picked up 4-wicket hauls in IPL. Munaf & Pollard picked up 4 wickets each for MI vs RR in 2011.
–> KXIP recorded their least team score in IPL, 88 all out. Their earlier least was 98/7.
–> RCB won the game by 138 runs, the second highest winning margin in IPL so far. Highest winning margin in IPL was 140 runs which was recorded by KKR against RCB, in the first ever IPL game which was hosted by the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium only.
RCB’s previous highest winning margin in IPL was 131 runs against Pune Warriors in 2013, also at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
