When two of the batsmen get together and decide to put up a show for the crowd, you just sit back, relax and enjoy. And that is essentially what the RPS bowlers did and frankly that is all they could do.

AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli again showed us all why they are pipped as the best in the world and when they form a combo, there is nothing prettier and destructive in the world.

With the heavyweights in their batting order, RPS should have made a better meal out of the chase but with KP’s injury, Faf’s no show and Smith’s run out, the chase never really took off. And despite the late surge by Thisara Perera, RPS fell well short.

Let’s get to business now!

Delhi Daredevils vs Mumbai Indians

Transfer out: Kevin Pietersen, Umesh Yadav, Murugan Ashwin

Transfer in: Quinton de Kock, Amit Mishra, Jayant Yadav/ Krunal Pandya (uncapped player)

Delhi Daredevils have resurrected themselves as a force to reckon with in the IPL and Quinton de Kock has had a big say in that. His contributions at the top of the order have ensured that Delhi have gone about their business in an assured and brisk manner. While de Kock has proved to the mainstay of the batting, it has been Amit Mishra’s leg spinners that have held their bowling together.

Mumbai Indians too may have just started to figure things out a little bit with respect to their team combination. Rohit Sharma has been firing at the top of the order and with Kieron Pollard’s return to form; it all just seems to be falling in place for them. But inevitably someone’s bubble will burst today.

The Kotla pitch assisted spin last time round and Amit Mishra just ripped through the Kings XI top order and you could expect another spin-friendly track.

I already have Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah in my team for this game.

Now, considering the spin friendly and slow nature of the Delhi track, I’ll bring in Amit Mishra. But just look out for the pitch report and ensure that the track used for the last game is being used for this game, because if a fresh strip is going to be used, you could save the transfer.

The next pick has to be Quinton de Kock. While this track isn’t as flat as all the other ones he has played on but if you leave him out, he could hurt you bad.

Jos Buttler played really well in the World T20 at Delhi but he was never playing against 3 quality spinners in Mishra, Jayant Yadav, and Pavan Negi, all turning the ball away from him. Hence, I leave him out!

For the uncapped player, I bring in one from Krunal Pandya or Jayant Yadav. Get in Pandya if Mumbai bat first because he might come in handy batting lower down the order. But if Mumbai bat second, I’ll get in Jayant Yadav. I can’t get in any of the young Delhi uncapped batsmen because of my team combination.

Batting captain: Rohit Sharma (if Mumbai bat first)/ Quinton de Kock (if Delhi bat first)

Bowling first: Amit Mishra (if the pitch report suggests a turning track)/ Jasprit Bumrah (especially if Mumbai bowl first)
