The next time RCB play, I am not going to exert myself and write a new article exalting ViratKohli and ABD. Rather, I’ll just look into my archives and copy-paste the link of the previous article in that space.
Every time these two supermen bat, you feel that this is the zenith of their batting prowess, but every time they prove you wrong by raising the bar a notch higher. On a turning Eden Gardens track, Kohli and simplicity of their batting.
The KKR batsmen did put up a good score on the board and would have backed their spinners to dominate on a slow Eden Gardens track but with Gayle, ABD and Kohli in the mood, they just didn’t have any answers.
RCB have responded brilliantly after being pushed into a corner and requiring 4 wins out of 4 and with the way they have been playing, it seems as if they are actually liking this must win situation.
KKR on the other hand, have had the experience of losing out on a playoff spot due to ‘no shows’ in the final few games and would be weary of that not happening again.
Let’s get to business now!
Rising Pune Supergiants vs Delhi Daredevils:
Transfer out: Iqbal Abdullah/Rohit Sharma
Transfer in: Rajat Bhatia/Karun Nair
The Delhi Daredevils have made things tricky for themselves and desperately need to get the better of a tottering RPSG side. While their team selection have been with regard to the pitch conditions and the opposition, it hasn’t allowed them to field a settled unit for a string of matches together, something that could prove detrimental to their side in a playoff game.
RPSG have little to fight for but would want to make their presence felt by spoiling the party for sides who are vying for a playoff spot. Not much has gone according to plan for them but the good thing is that they haven’t really been blown away by teams and so only a little bit of tinkering could help their cause.
Now, I already have Quinton De Kock and Amit Mishra in my team for this game
With the Vizag pitch dishing out a different pitch everytime a game is played there, I wouldn’t want to bring in a lot of players into my side for this game. Also, there is forecast for rain later in the evening and that could result in a shortened game.
I won’t be making any transfers to my team today because I can’t substitute out any overseas players, as they are either playing tomorrow or the day after (ABD, Watson and Russell).
So, even if I wanted to make a substitution it would have had to be an Indian player. Now, the most obvious choice for an Indian player for this game would be Ajinkya Rahane but I wouldn’t want to bring him in as RPSG play their next game on Saturday. As opposed to that Murali Vijay seems a better transfer as he plays on a flat pitch in Bangalore tomorrow and would play his next game on Saturday.
If you want to bring in any overseas player from the Pune side, you could go in for Usman Khawaja. He has looked in good touch and has gotten off to starts every time and seems the best from what Pune have at their disposal.
For the uncapped player pick, I bring in either Rajat Bhatia or Karun Nair, depending on what the pitch report is like. If the pitch is a batting friendly one (like the last game), I would go in with Karun, but if it seems like one that will stick and provide some grip for the bowlers, Bhatia seems to be the better choice.
Batting captain: Quinton de Kock
Bowling captain: Amit Mishra (if DD bowl first)/ Rajat Bhatia (if RPSG bowl first)
