Two-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians (MI) is all set to lock horns with the defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 10th encounter of the tournament at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Both are coming off victories in their previous encounters and will look to come all guns blazing. The scales will be slightly tilted in favour of Mumbai given the fact they will be playing at home and Wankhede Stadium has become a fortress for them.

Mumbai began their IPL campaign with a defeat at the hands of Rising Pune Supergiant but came back strongly in their next encounter against the Kolkata Knight Riders to clinch a nail-biting thriller. The Pandya brothers were simply exceptional as their combined heroics helped Mumbai seal a nerve-wracking win.

Neither teams seem to have a clear advantage over each other as both teams have returned triumphant on 4 occasions out of the 8 matches played. In the 2 matches played at the Wankhede Stadium, Hyderabad has lost both which will surely be worrying signs for David Warner and Co. They have simply exceptional in their opening two matches and outplayed their oppositions in each and every department.

Hyderabad has been bolstered by the inclusion of Afghanistan teenage leg-spinner Rashid Khan who is already the leading wicket-taker in the tournament so far. There is something about his deliveries which doesn’t allow the batsmen to read him properly and it was evident from the opening two matches where he bamboozled opposition batsmen on a consistent basis, especially with his well-directed googlies. So with few hours to go for the 10th match to commence let us have a look at the prediction results for the match.

Here is what Crictracker predicts for the game:

Scenario 1:  MI wins the toss

Toss Prediction: MI choose to bowl

First innings prediction: 175-180

2nd innings Prediction: MI will win win by 5 wickets (with 3 balls to spare)

Scenario 2: SRH wins the toss

Toss Prediction: SRH choose to bowl

First innings Prediction: 200-210

2nd innings Prediction: MI will win by 30 runs

Head to Head Record

Overall: Matches – 8, MI Won – 4, SRH Won – 4

At the Wankhede Stadium: Matches – 2, MI Won – 2 SRH Won – 0

In IPL 2016: Matches – 2, MI Won – 0, SRH Won – 2

It is expected to be a thrilling contest between two powerhouses of the tournament but Mumbai Indians have a clear advantage because they will be playing in front of their home crowd. Hyderabad has continued from where they left in the previous season and looked in complete command of proceedings during the first two games. They will surely look to continue their winning streak but it won’t be an easy task to upstage the spirited Mumbai Indians in their own backyard. Playing Combinations

Mumbai Indians

It was a sensational come from behind victory over the Mumbai Indians the other day and they will surely look to keep their winning combination intact. One probable replacement might be Aussie speedster Mitchell Johnson who had to sit out for the opening two games of the tournament. He might come in favour of Mitchell McLeneghan after the seamer conceded 51 runs in the previous game and belted all across the Wankhede Stadium by the KKR batters.

The decision to include Harbhajan Singh did deny Mumbai a proper batting option but Bhajji is a handy batsman lower down the order and can strike some lusty blows. So there is no question about his inclusion. Speedster Lasith Malinga made a comeback in the previous match and will continue to spearhead the bowling attack for the rest of the tournament.

It was the heroics of youngster Krunal Pandya, Hardik Pandya and Nitish Rana which handed Mumbai a magnificent victory but they will hope for their foreign contingent to fire all cylinders in the coming matches of the tournament.

Predicted XI: Parthiv Patel (wk), Jos Buttler, Nitish Rana, Rohit Sharma (c), Krunal Pandya, Kieron Pollard, Hardik Pandya, Harbhajan Singh, Mitchell Johnson, Lasith Malinga, Jasprit Bumrah

Sunrisers Hyderabad

Hyderabad is likely to remain unchanged after getting off to a sensational start in their title defence campaign. It was the heroics young leggie Rashid Khan which helped Hyderabad register resounding victories against Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Lions. Opener David Warner and one own Moises Henriques both looked in ominous touch the other and ensured Hyderabad reached the target with 9 wickets in hand.

The form of Yuvraj Singh will surely be an X factor for Hyderabad in this match and also for the rest of the tournament. He looked the same old Yuvi and will be worrying signs for bowlers. The middle order and the lower middle order hasn’t been tested yet so it remains to be seen how they respond in a situation of crisis.

Predicted XI: 1 David Warner (capt), 2 Shikhar Dhawan, 3 Moises Henriques, 4 Yuvraj Singh, 5 Deepak Hooda, 6 Ben Cutting, 7 Naman Ojha (wk), 8 Bipul Sharma, 9 Ashish Nehra, 11 Rashid Khan

The odds are in favour of Mumbai Indians given the fact they will be playing in their fortress, the Wankhede Stadium but Hyderabad will be a tough nut to crack especially after winning their first 2 outings.
