IPL 2018: ACB congratulates Rashid Khan for his scintillating show at the Eden

Rashid Khan was simply magnificent against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the second qualifier of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He made the difference in all the three departments and single-handedly took the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) into the final. They will now face the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Sunday and would love to trump them in the fourth attempt this season. While everyone was in awe of the leg-spinner after his match-winning performance, even Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has come up with a congratulatory message for him.

The bowlers of the KKR had done extremely well to keep a lid on the run-scoring of their opponents until Rashid came out to bat in the 18th over. He whacked the ball to all the parts of the Eden Gardens and propelled his team’s total to 174 runs. At one stage it looked like they will struggle even to cross 150. But the momentum was with SRH going into the break and they had Rashid to thank for the same.

Rashid Khan’s main job was to bowl and he hardly disappoints in that aspect of his game. He nipped out crucial wickets of Robin Uthappa, Chris Lynn and Andre Russel to turn the game on its head. To add to the misery of the KKR, he even contributed on the field by affecting the crucial run-out of Nitish Rana and went on to pouch a couple of catches in the final over of the game.

No wonder his cricket board was proud after his performances in the IPL and also wished him all the best for the title clash against the CSK. “Congrats to our googly master @rashidkhan_19 for the man of the match award and brilliant performance in all three departments in today’s game against @KKRiders. Best of luck for the final! #IPL2018,” the message for Rashid read.

All his fans and even the SRH team management will be hoping that he continues in the same vein in the final and win the coveted title for them.
