IPL 2018: Bollywood veteran Amitabh Bachchan reveals his favourite IPL team
The Knight Riders seemingly have increased their fanbase to include a few superstars as well.

Cricket as a sport has enjoyed a very formidable and loving relationship with the different celebrities from the Bollywood fraternity. Many popular Bollywood actors and actresses have also added the sparkling touch in the last ten editions of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in the amazing performances in the opening ceremonies and while cheering for their favourite teams in the stadium.
Veteran Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan was recently quizzed by former Indian World Cup winning cricketer Kapil Dev in a talk show, where the cricketer asked the legendary film star about his favorite team in the IPL.
Amitabh is known to be a great follower of the game and has been seen many times cheering for the Indian team in the stadiums as well as supporting the team through his appreciable messages on Twitter. His son Abhishek Bachchan is also a very celebratory sports lover and is the owner of a franchise in the domestic football tournament, Indian Super League (ISL). Along with the Bachchan family, many other Bollywood stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta, Juhi Chawla and many other celebrities have joined hands for their association with the respective IPL franchises.
Which is Amitabh Bachchan’s favourite IPL team?
According to some reports mentioned in the Republic World, former Indian cricketer Kapil Dev had an interview with the Sr. Bachchan in a chat show. During the conversation, Amitabh revealed that he supports the IPL team from Kolkata, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), as he is a son-in-law from of the city. He added that even though he resides in Mumbai and also has his roots in the city of Bollywood, still he favors the Knight Riders.
The veteran Bollywood star also revealed that his son is the owner of two sports teams, one of those in Chennai and the other one in Jaipur, while his daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan comes from Karnataka. He mentioned that there is not any such major favoritism for any specific IPL franchise. The whole Bachchan family enjoys watching each and every thrilling IPL match happily together as a unit.
Amitabh Bachchan will next be seen sharing the stage with another veteran Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor in their next movie, titled ‘102 Not Out’, which is scheduled to release on May 4. In the upcoming film, Amitabh will be seen playing the role of a 102-year old father of a 75-year old son, who will be Rishi Kapoor and both the legendary stars will be portraying an unusual father-son tragic story.
