The Royal Challengers Bangalore managed to keep their hopes alive in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League. They have managed to stay afloat in the competition with their recent 10 wicket win over the Kings XI Punjab in Indore. The match was a one sided affair but the player battles on the paper prior to the game created a lot of buzz.

Veteran batsman, Chris Gayle, took the field against RCB, a team he had represented in the previous editions. Playing for the RCB, Chris Gayle had broken numerous IPL records and the T20 records. His whirlwind 175 against the now-defunct Pune Warriors still stands as the best individual effort in the shortest format of the game.

Prior to the auctions this year, Gayle had to part ways with RCB as he was not retained by the franchise. More recently, Chris Gayle had remarked that the RCB camp did a world of wrong to him. He had quoted that he was assured by the RCB team management that he would be retained by the franchise at the auctions of IPL 2018.

However, he never really got a call from them. At the auctions, Gayle went unsold in the first round and was eventually snapped by Kings XI Punjab for his base price. He slammed all critics by showing tremendous form in the season. Much to his disliking, he failed to score against RCB. The fans expected to see whether things get a little awkward between Gayle and his former teammates. But everything looked very professional to the eyes of the fans after the game.

After the game, one RCB player, Yuzvendra Chahal posted a picture on the social media with Chris Gayle. He asked the fans to caption the picture. Gayle was quick to reply on the picture and commented, “He miss me.” Chahal was also very swift in his response to the comment made by Gayle and said, “Yes I’m”.
