The Royal Challengers Bangalore were down and out in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League. They had a terrible run in the first half of the season. However, in the recent week, they registered two back to back wins to head back with a ray of hope to qualify for the playoffs. Their head coach, Daniel Vettori, remarked that the team is desperate to win.

Vettori cited that the RCB skipper, Virat Kohli, has been talking a lot about the desperation that the players have to show to win the tournament and win matches. Speaking more about the captain, Vettori showered praises on Kohli for leading the team exceptionally well in the match against the Kings XI Punjab in Indore recently.

“We have to give ourselves the opportunity. Kohli has spoken to the team about the need to be desperate as we are desperate to win. We should be carefree, that’s when we play our best. Virat been amazing, his versatility, the way he led against on KXIP,” RCB head coach Daniel Vettori quoted.

On Umesh Yadav’s form

One of the major concerns for the Royal Challengers Bangalore this season has been their bowling. However, one bowler has stood apart in the league. Umesh Yadav has been a consistent wicket taker for them and is among the top wicket takers in the season. Daniel Vettori had his praises reserved for the Indian speedster.

“Umesh is very skilful, has been a regular wicket-taker for us and has the experience too,” noted the RCB head coach as per the quotes in Hindustan Times.

Furthermore, he even reasoned out why the Royal Challengers Bangalore have been making a lot of changes in the playing eleven. He noted that they are striving to strike the perfect balance in their side. “We have filled the gaps and balanced out the team. Every team is on the path to find the right balance,” Vettori remarked.
