The Cauvery Water Dispute (CWD) has been a major conundrum in Chennai. Meanwhile, eminent personalities like Rajinikanth has urged for the games to be moved out of the city in a bid to protest against the central government’s inability to set up the Cauvery Management Board (CMB). Meanwhile, he has urged the players and the audience to wear black arm-bands.
Also, a pro-Tamil outfit by the name of Tamizhaga Vazhvurimai Katchi (TVK) has threatened to halt the game midway if the game takes place. Velmurugan, the chief of TVK has threatened to let loose snakes in the ground during Chennai Super Kings (CSK) match against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the iconic MA Chidambaram Stadium.
A significant reduction of prices
For the time being, the fans are rightly complacent to visit the Chepauk owing to the political turmoil in the Southern part of India. As per reports by fans at the Chepauk, tickets which have been brought by them from sites like the Book My Show for a whopping INR 2250, has been put on sale at a price of INR 750.
It will be an absolute shame if enough fans don’t turn out for Chennai’s comeback game at the stadium. Even Harsha Bhogle has termed the entry on Chepauk as a ‘nightmare’. Quite expectantly, the security in the ground has been severely tightened in order for the smooth conduct of the game.

Hopefully the stadium will be full by the time the game starts. Currently just a nightmare getting in #CSKvsKKR

Electronic goods like mobile phones, laptops and bags won’t be allowed at the venue. There will be nearly 4000 police at the Chepauk to keep a check on any potential mishap. CSK would be making a comeback to their home ground after a couple of years.
They were banned from playing in 2016 and 2017 following match-fixing scandals. While the fans are desperately waiting for MS Dhoni and his boys to wield their magic, the CWD issue has turned out to be a major detriment.
